Imagine winning yourself a brand new Golf TSI. Imagine no more, as last week, 43-year-old Sales Engineer, Ng Joo Inn subscribed to a P1 ForHome™ broadband plan, and won the much coveted bonus of a brand new Volkswagen Golf TSI worth RM160,000. Ng subscribed to P1 when the service provider was running its “iPunya Buy & Win Contest” with the Golf TSI as the grand prize.
At the prize-giving ceremony held at the P1 headquarters today, Ng who was obviously ecstatic with his big win which came tied with a bow, said, “I’ve never won anything this grand before. I’m excited and happy beyond words.”
The contest was opened to subscribers of P1 broadband plans who also signed up for a P1 self-care account and submitted a slogan and answered a couple of questions correctly. Ng’s slogan reads, “I like P1 because it is everyday LOW cost with HIGH quality; they know they are not the best but always try harder!”
Additionally, 35 other subscribers also won attractive prizes comprising Samsung Galaxy Note, Samsung WiFi camera and X-mini speaker.
Noor Azlin Shah, one of the few Samsung Galaxy Note winners and subscriber of P1’s ToGo™ plan said, “I truly feel valued as a P1 customer and not just because of this reward but the way the company tries to ensure I have the best service experience.”
The ‘P1 iPunya Buy & Win Contest’ had 9,430 entries. The contest was a give-away frenzy to reward customers and to encourage more registration for P1’s do-it-yourself customer care portal to further enhance customer experience.
P1 Brand & Marketing Director, Shirley Ah Yong who gave away the prizes at the ceremony shared the winners’ joy. He said, “It feels just as good to give as to receive, maybe even better. That’s why P1 is built for more™ to always give more -- whether it’s through our product and plan designs, customer service or consumer programs such as this iPunya contest.”
In conjunction with the “Ipunya Buy and Win Contest,” P1 held an interesting promoter contest called the “U Win, I Win” contest. The mechanics of the ‘U Win, I Win Contest” were simple and as its name suggests, the promoters who signed up the winners of the iPunya contest also win. Tan San Mi who had been a promoter for P1 since 2008 was the lucky promoter who sold grand prize winner, Ng, his P1 plan and hence won a RM25, 000 cash prize. Other promoters won the exact same prize as their respective iPunya contest winner i.e., the Samsung Galaxy Note, Samsung WiFi camera or X-mini speaker.
